These terms govern your use of Step N Scroll, an iOS and Android app operated by Matheus Mello, a sole trader established in Portugal. By downloading or using the app you agree to them.

1. The Service

Step N Scroll lets you set a daily step goal and restrict access to apps you choose until that goal is met. It uses Apple's Screen Time (Family Controls) framework to apply those restrictions and Apple Health to read your step count.

2. Health and Medical Disclaimer

Step N Scroll is a habit and screen-time tool, not a medical device. It does not:

Diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any medical condition.
Provide medical, psychological or clinical advice.
Replace guidance from a qualified health professional.
Guarantee any particular health, fitness or screen-time outcome.

Before you start

Speak to a qualified professional before making significant changes to your physical activity, particularly if you have a heart, joint or mobility condition, or are pregnant.

3. Device Permissions

The app needs your permission to read step data and to restrict apps. On iPhone that means Apple Health and Apple's Screen Time framework; on Android it means Health Connect and an accessibility service used to detect and block the apps you choose. You can withdraw any of these permissions at any time in your device settings; doing so will stop the corresponding features from working.

4. Your Account

You are responsible for:

Keeping your account credentials confidential.
All activity that occurs under your account.
Providing accurate and up-to-date information.
Telling us promptly about any unauthorised use.

5. Subscriptions and Payments

Available plans:

<strong>Starter:</strong> app blocking, Focus Guard and challenges, billed monthly.
<strong>Complete:</strong> everything in Starter plus the AI coach and Future Walk Self, billed monthly.

Free trial: Free trial availability and length are shown on the paywall in the app before you subscribe. If a trial applies and you do not cancel before it ends, the subscription bills automatically at the standard price.

Auto-renewal: Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period. You can turn off auto-renewal at any time in your Apple ID subscription settings — cancellation must be made at least 24 hours before the period ends to avoid the next charge.

Cancellation policy: You can cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for. Refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store terms; as an EU consumer your statutory withdrawal rights are unaffected.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the app for unlawful purposes.
Attempt to hack, reverse-engineer or compromise the app's security.
Upload photos of anyone other than yourself to Future Walk Self, or upload unlawful content.
Share your account with third parties.
Use the app in a way that could damage or overload our systems.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Step N Scroll is provided "as is". We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and your statutory rights as a consumer under Portuguese and EU law are unaffected.

8. No Warranty

We do not warrant that:

The app will function without interruption or error.
App blocking will be effective in every circumstance, since it depends on Apple's frameworks and your device settings.
You will reach any particular step, screen-time or health goal.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

9. Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Significant changes will be notified through the app. Continued use after modifications constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

10. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account at our discretion, without prior notice, for violation of these terms or for any other reason.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Portugal. Any dispute shall be subject to the competent Portuguese courts. If you are a consumer resident in the EU, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence, and nothing here removes the protection of mandatory consumer law there.
